The early stages of any branding or logo design project involve research, sketching, and mood boards. One on-going logo design project that I’m working on is this one, WeilerMeyer Custom Furniture. It just so happens that this will be the name of my fiance’s woodworking business here in Bend, Oregon. Designing for him has been a stress-inducing process so far, which is why I decided to make it my first work-in-progress blog entry.
He loves all things old. Old wood stoves, old machines, old people! Woodworking itself is a timeless and respected craft. He stresses the importance of hand-built, hand-planed, hand-worked furniture. He wants the same from his logo designer. I’m therefore focusing on a hand-lettered logotype and an overall aged appearance.
More to come!
